Mid week ride

Just got back from a late evening ride with the lads and I thoroughly enjoyed it. We covered a 47 mile loop taking in Shipston, Chipping Norton and Banbury. What made the ride for me was the way we kept a decent pace (averaged over 18 mph) and helped each other out. There was a strong head wind at times and we worked as a pack, putting our heads down and getting through it.

I kept a high cadence for the ride (average 95prm) and a good cruising heart rate (under 140 bpm). On the return road from Banbury I felt good and as Fleetwood Mac’s The Chain came on my iPod I laid down the pace for the last few miles. I averaged over 25mph and loved every second of it. It felt like I was floating on the pedals and I just wanted to keep going.
