Day 16 – Dirty Harry

Soooo good to have spent the night in a comfy clean bed, although I did wake up in the middle of the night wonder where I was. I dragged myself out of bed and went for an morning jog. The area we’re in is in the Atlanta foothills and I was surprised by the inclines. It was a tough run but I enjoyed running alongside the wooded areas and through the suburbs.

After breakfast Richard took us down to his local gun shop where we had a go with his Beretta pistol. It was scary as hell handling a real pistol and nothing like the clay pigeon shooting I’d done before. In the range the sound of guns being fired was deafening, even with ear protectors on! Although I found a buzz in shooting the gun I didn’t like handling it and its not something I’d choose to do as a hobby.

The afternoon was spent relaxing around the house and chatting. Good to have a break. In the evening Richard treated us to a home firework display. I can’t thank Richard and Cathy enough for putting us up. Its been the perfect end to a long road trip and has helped us relax before we fly to LA.
