Day 25 – Dam that’s impressive

Hit the road again today in search of the Hover Dam. Its actually pretty easy to get to, via the interstates, and we were there within the hour. Later found out that this was good as the single lane road can get blocked up – leading to queues of several hours.

Running out of words to describe all there sights so in simple terms its big and something worth seeing. Seriously though it really does deserve its status as one of the seven manmade wonders of the world. Recommend taking the power house tour as you get to go inside the dam and see the turbine all.

Returning to Vegas we checked into the Stratosphere and were impressed with our $35 a night room. The view to the mountains is stunning plus there’s a roof top pool and the gym’s free; both we made use of!

After stuffing ourselves at the dinner buffet (ate till I was nearly sick actually) we got the car and headed to Fremont Street (the street covered with a light show). Having the car round here really makes life easy and parking is mostly free. The street it actually on downtown Vegas which is separate and quite away from the new strip. We caught the end of one show and a full one an hour later; both were different but equally entertaining.
