Day 35 – Have a break – couldn’t find a KitKat
With nothing planned for the day we opted for bit of a break today. After sorting out payment for the Galapagos trip we headed to explore the local area. We finally found a post office, but it was shut so the postcards I wrote in LA will have to wait, and and oasis of greenery in the form of a park. The park was host to a small fair of traditional goods but nothing stood out, didn’t really fancy another scarf or jumper.
Spent the afternoon faffing around the hostel and doing another one of my made up circuits. Wasn’t really in the mood for exercise, think I’m getting lethargic, but I soon got into it. Used the outside terrace for parts so enjoyed views of the rain coming in whilst doing jacks and lunges.
Having worked up an appetite we headed to a Mexican restaurant. On form, I managed to demolish a pile of fajitas. Side note – since being in Quite we’ve managed Indian, Chinese and Mexican food. I’d expected to be living on rice and beans. After the meal we returned to the hostel to watch a film but missed the end of it after we got chatting to fellow travellers. I love the travel talk; its all ‘yeah, I’ve been there’ and ‘I did that’ and I always seem to find myself feeling like my trips a weekend break compared to their expeditions. Gives me plenty of ideas for the future though.
