Day 61 – Up up and away

Four hours sleep and beer the night before a full days travelling – I knew I was in for a tough day.

Our taxi driver tried dropping us off at the but station but after a bit of miming he got us to the airport. The flight to Lima went without issue.

Sat around in Lima airport for five hours and managed a McDonald’s and Starbucks on Tom’s remaining cash. Lucked out and got emergency exit seats for the flights to LA.

The flight to San Jose seemed to last forever and this was only half way into distance. On arrival we had a short wait before our connecting flight to LA. Security seemed extra high and we had another check even though we’d just gotten off a plane. Might have been something to do with it being election results day and we were flying into the US.

I was shattered by the time we were in the air and  on our way to LA. I passed out whilst watching a film so took myself off to one of the free rows for a proper lie down.

Arriving in LA we were greeted with a barrage of security guards at every turn. I’ve never shown my passport so many times to get out of an airport. I can usually put up with their bullish approach but being tired really pushed me.
